Christian Rizk & Julie Audic

Christian Rizk (Liban 1971) et Julie Audic (France 1973) sont architectes et artistes photographes. Ils se sont rencontrés à Venise durant leurs études d’architecture. Tous deux lauréats du prix Monbushô au Japon, ils y ont séjourné cinq ans et ont développé une approche photographique singulière dénommée Photographie Intensive. Cette technique excluant toute retouche ou filtre ou manipulation est basée sur la chromie inverse et un long temps d’obturation. Elle consiste à capter les intensités dynamiques des lieux et événements plutôt que leurs décors statiques. Elle cherche à se détourner de la reproduction rationnelle et identique de ce que nos yeux perçoivent et tend aux limites de l’abstraction photographique. La photographie semble alors se muer en peinture, nous invitant à découvrir cette part d’imaginaire et de poésie préservée au coeur de toute réalité.

Julie Audic (France 1973) and Christian Rizk (Lebanon 1971)  are architects. They met in Venice Italy during their architectural studies. Both laureates of the Japanese Monbushô Prize , they spent five years in Tokyo where they developed a singular photographic approach they called Intensive Photography. This technique excludes any retouching, filter or digital manipulation. it relies on inverse chromatics and long exposure. It consists on capturing the dynamic intensities of spaces and events instead of their static decors.  it explores the limits of rational reproduction and tends to photographic abstraction. Photography seems to mutates into painting inviting us to unveil the imaginary and the poetic preserved at the core of any reality.
